        W. Clifford Black, 1872-1944, took over the West End Drug Store at 908-5th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta in 1909 or 1910. He changed its name to Bow Marsh Drug Store, then Black's Drug Store. In 1911 he moved it to 116-10th Street NW. By 1920 it was moved to 106A-10th Street NW. Following Black's death, the business came under the management of his former apprentice, William M. Mitchell, 1914-1994. When Mitchell became sole proprietor in 1967 he renamed it Black's Pharmacy. The business closed in 1982 when Mitchell retired.
