Biographical history
William Sanford "Bill" Lee, 1887-1941, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. His wife Venice, 1894-1964, was from McLean, Illinois, USA. In 1919 or 1920 they moved from Winnipeg to Chinook, Alberta and established the Banner Hardware store. Following Bill's death, the store was sold to the Coop in 1943. Bill and Venice had five children: Marjorie Dow, 1914-1980; Sanford, b&d 1919; Jack Douglas, 1921-1996; William Lester, 1927- ; and Virginia, 1931- .
