Biographical history
Bard B. Herigstad, 1881-1969, was born near Cooperstown, North Dakota, the son of Betuel and Inger Herigstad who had emigrated to the USA from Norway in 1881. He farmed with his father until 1909, then moved to southern Alberta. He homesteaded on the N1/2-14-3-8-W4, near Pendant d'Oreille. He built a sod house in 1909 which he lived in as long as he farmed. In 1968 he entered a nursing home in Bow Island.
