Biographical history
Barbara Mary Laura Gardiner, 1874-1964, was born in England, the daughter of E.J. Gardiner and Laura Gardiner. She and her mother came to Olsen Creek in 1896 for an extended visit with her brother, Claude. She subsequently lived in Fort Macleod until returning permanently to England at the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. In England, she lived in Bournemouth, and was very active with the Red Cross.
