Biographical history
Arthur Carl Weich, 1918-1999, was born in Hanna, Alberta and for a time farmed in the area. In 1945 he started the Farmers Exchange, a hardware and furniture business, which he sold to his brother Don in 1948. He then started Art's Auto Sales. The family moved to Calgary in 1951 where he worked for General Supplies. In 1953 he was a partner in the brokerage firm of Maynard, Bond, Desilets and Weich which folded a few years later. He then developed a silver mine in British Columbia, followed by Modern Tool and Equipment in Calgary. The latter firm was sold in 1967 and Weich worked for a few years at Cal-West Realty. In 1940 he married Adalena Doering, 1918-?, and they had three daughters, Marlene (Bradshaw), Marjorie (Dimitri) and Judy (Eathorne).
