Biographical history
Arthur Adair Brooke, 1874-1959, was born in Italy of English/Irish parents and raised in Switzerland. In the late 1890s he emigrated to Barnsley, Manitoba where he homesteaded with his brothers Hugh and John Graham. In 1901 Arthur, his wife, Annie Florence (nee Ruth), and Hugh moved to homestead in the Didsbury, Alberta area. Arthur and his wife had three sons, Harold, Ralph Edward, 1902-?, and Ernest Cuthbert, 1903-1977. He and the family moved to Salmon Arm, British Columbia in 1907, and he retired to Cloverdale and died at Lytton.
