Historique
Pam Appleton, 1944- , was born in India and moved to Canada in 1953. In 1973, she received her BA in psychology from the University of Calgary. She is a teacher at Calgary's Chris Akkerman Elementary School. She is an active member of the New Democratic Party and has been the Calgary representative in the Alberta NDP Women's Section, the Calgary organizer of the NDP Task Force on Older Women, and president of the Mountain View and Forest Lawn NDP Associations. She ran, unsuccessfully, as the NDP candidate for Calgary North in the 1984 federal election.
