After she moved to the Calgary subdivision of Ranchlands she became very involved with the community, serving as president of the Ranchlands Community Association, 1992-2001, as a director and executive member of the Federation of Calgary Communities, 1992-2001, and as a community representative on the Calgary Ward 2 Advisory Committee beginning in 1992.
