Biographical history
Allen Edwin Manly, 1894-?, was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA and moved to Edmonton, Alberta in the 1910s where he began working for Edmonton Transit in 1917 as a motorman. He joined the army during the First World War and trained at Sarcee Army Camp in Calgary. Manly was promoted to inspector and retired from the transit system in 1959.

Scope and content
The fonds consists of photographs of work with Edmonton Transit, service in the First World War, and views of lumber camps west of Edmonton. Also consists of newspaper clippings regarding his career, cartoons by Harold Howard, and items relating to the Edmonton Grads basketball team.
