Biographical history
Albert Shurtleff, ?-1885, was appointed North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) sub-inspector in 1873, and was NWMP farm superintendent at Pincher Creek and Fort Macleod, Alberta ca. 1880-1881. He was appointed superintendent in 1882, and was posted at Regina, Saskatchewan in 1884 and Maple Creek in 1885. He then retired to pension. He was married to Julia Wood of Fort Macleod and they had one daughter, Lillian Wood "Tannis" (Allison). Julia married Daniel Webster Marsh after Albert's death.
