Biographical history

A.E. Johnston served during First World War as regimental sergeant-major to the 2nd Canadian Motor Machine Gun Brigade. He left Canada for Liverpool, England in February 1918 and joined the CMMG on April 1. He fought in Belgium from May until the armistice in November, and left Liverpool for Canada in July 1919.
