Biographical history

William Walker, also called "Scottie", was originally from Scotland. He lived in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1915 when he joined a Dominion Land Survey of the Milk River area of southern Alberta as a draughtsman.

The fonds consists of a humorous booklet entitled "The Boys", which features verse, photographs, and sketches about the members of the Milk River survey, including W.M.Edwards, Chief of Party; Edmund L. Miles, topographer; W.B. Hutcheson, leveller; Steve Negrey, transitman; William Walker (who did the sketches); L.B. Perley Miles, assistant topographer; R.L. Penfound, recorder; Stanley N. Trew, head hubman; George C. Tutin, rodman; W.P. Rogers, Rodman; George L. Edwards, picketman; G.J. Lush, Rodman; and T.F. Swan, teamster.
