Biographical history
William V. Wing, [ca. 1877-after 1967], came to Calgary, Alberta from Westport, Ontario in 1898. In 1901 he was involved in starting the Wing and Kidney store and some time later opened up his own tea room and bakery on 17th Avenue. He and his wife moved to Victoria but soon returned to Alberta. William worked in Cluny for three years and then moved to Gleichen where he started a new business. After this business was destroyed by fire he and his wife moved to Lethbridge and opened a tea room and bakery. After his wife's death ca. 1935 he worked as manager of the Inglewood golf course. He also worked at the Empire Hotel for 15 years before retiring.
