Biographical history

William Ralph Challes was born in Somerset, England in 1897. Challes emigrated to Canada as a teenager and was working as a clerk in Kenora, Ontario when war broke out in 1914. He enlisted in February of 1916 and served with the 16th Battalion in France. Challes died November 8, 1960.
