The material in this collection was gathered together by the Viking Historical Society in the mid-1960s for use in Let us Not Forget : A History of Viking and District, a local history of the Viking area of Alberta published by the society in 1968.

It is unclear why we were copying photos collected before 1968 as late as 1979. Perhaps we were copying copies kept by the VHS.
