Canadian screen writer, dramatist and children's novelist Donald (Don) Truckey was born in 1957 in a small town in Alberta. His writing career began as journalist for eight years at The Calgary Herald (courts, politics, and editorial board). He then moved to Toronto where he became the head writer on CBC's Street Legal and Urban Angel. He is the recipient of an ACTRA award in 1985 for best television writing for Rough Justice. He has written two movies with hockey as their theme: the Gemini award-winning Net Worth (1996) and Chicks with Sticks, as well as Crazy Canucks about Canada's Olympic Ski team. His first children?s book in the Caraway Kim Series, The Adventures of Caraway Kim...Southpaw was published in 2005 and was shortlisted for the 2007 Rocky Mountain Book Award (Alberta Children in Literacy Program). Don Truckey lives in Toronto, Ontario.
