Biographical history
Tranquility School District No. 4495 was established near Sexsmith, Alberta on June 19, 1930. The school was opened in January 1931 with Annie Graham as the first teacher. The school was closed during the 1933-1934 school year due to lack of funds, but re-opened in the fall of 1934. In 1937 the district became part of Grande Prairie School Division No. 14. The school closed permanently in 1955 due to centralization.
