Name of creator
John Oliver Stanley Ibbotson, 1890-, was born in Southwold Township, Elgin County, near Iona Station, Ontario. He moved west in 1909, briefly worked with the Canadian Pacific Railway, then moved to the Canadian Northern Railway in northern Alberta. About 1912 he rejoined the CPR, serving in Field, British Columbia and other towns. Oliver joined the Canadian Army in the First World War. After returning from France he was stationed in Gull Lake, Lake Louise, Battrum, and Cayley. He married Mary Etta Miltimore, and they had seven children, Norene, Archibald, Marion, Neil, Bette, Nelda and Myra.
