Name of creator
Seldon Wilson Sutton, 1883-1948, was born in Middlesex County, Ontario. He moved to Alberta and joined the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) in 1903 as a switchman. He also worked as a brakeman and fireman before becoming an engineer in 1910. Sutton worked his entire career in the Calgary district. He was active in the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and attended several of their conventions in Canada and the United States. Sutton was the engineer in the Hollywood movie "Canadian Pacific", filmed in Alberta. Sutton and his wife, Adna Mabel Sampsel, 1889-1985, had three children, George Seldon, 1914-1948, Adna Sarah, 1917- , and Muriel Victoria (Liss), 1919-1989.
