Royal Theatres Ltd. was founded in Innisfail, Alberta and incorporated under the Alberta Companies Act on May 23, 1928. The purpose of the company was to establish theatres throughout the province for "all forms of instruction and entertainment including moving picture shows" [movies]. Elmore Kemp was the president, and Benjamin Shnitka was the secretary of the company.
