History
Thomas Ray worked as an assistant to British publisher Peter Davies, 1897-1960, who was associated with Heinemann Publishing Group. Davies purchased the Lovat Dickson publishing company in 1938 and became the owner of the rights to Grey Owl's books. Ray preserved the Grey Owl file when Heinemann moved offices.
