Biographical history
Charles Ralph Hoar was born in or near Guelph, Ontario and served in the artillery in World War II as a captain in the 11th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA. He remained in the military after the war achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. He died on Dec. 23, 2003.

Fonds consists of materials gathered by Hoar and his family predominantly related to Hoar's service in the Canadian military. Highlights include an unpublished history of the 3rd Canadian Field Regiment, and a regimental album for the 11th Canadian Field Regiment during WWII.
