Phil Fairclough, of Telford (formerly Wellington), Shropshire, England, was interested in documenting the lives of former German prisoners of war. Wolfgang Zoepfel (Zöpfel), 1925-1986, was one of his neighbors who had been interned at Camp 132 in Medicine Hat, Alberta during the Second World War. Following the war, Wolfgang was interned near Wellington until 1948. He decided to immigrate to England. In 1952 he married a local woman, Joan Titley, and they had two daughters.
