Biographical history

Norman Fisher, 1925-2016, was born in British Columbia, the son of a Canadian Pacific Railway engineer. He was trained as a civil engineer and worked for several firms including Bechtel in the Alberta oil sands. He retired in Arkansas but on the death of his wife he returned to Edmonton. Fisher was active throughout his life in photographing various North American railways, and collecting materials such as timetables, etc.
