Biographical history

Albert William Miller (originally Mueller), 1882-1961, was born in Klein-Sustedt, Germany, the son of Henry William and Anna Marie Magdalena Marks Mueller. The family came to the USA in 1886 and settled first at Blue Island, Illinois and later at Buffalo, Dawson County, Nebraska. Albert came to the Rockyford district of Alberta in 1909 and soon partnered with William R. Clemons in a large farming operation. They built a very large house, a barn (which was renovated in the 1980s it was still in use in 2003), and machine shop. Al Miller married Jessie Ann Barnett, 1892-1930, daughter of Anson and Elizabeth Barnett, and they had four children, Wallace "Wally", 1920- , Mary (Roll), Helen (Petersen), and James Albert, 1930- . Al and his family particularly enjoyed camping and hunting in the foothills of the Rockies.
