Name of creator
Lorene Frere and her husband Louis Frere bought the St. Ann Ranch at Trochu, Alberta in 1971 from Louis' grandparents, Martha and Ernest Frere, who had bought the site from Edgar Papillard in 1931. Lorene did research on the history of the ranch and the town of Trochu, initially for a local history book, and later to have the St. Ann Ranch designated as an historic site and to develop the ranch house as a bed and breakfast and teahouse.

The collection consists of drafts of St. Ann Ranch Book I and Book II; research material and copies of photographs relating to the St. Ann Ranch Trading Co. and the history of Trochu, Alberta; feasibility study and publicity relating to the designations of the St. Ann Ranch as an historic site and development of a bed and breakfast and teahouse; biographical information on Louis and Lorene Frere.
