  • Correspondence discussing co-authoring scripts for the television series Up at ours, development of La Svengali radio play and adaptation for stage of Gordon Pinsent's television drama A gift to last; discussing publication of Frankenstein (Clarke, Irwin, 1976; Dramatic Publishing, 1981), The incredible murder of Cardinal Tosca (Learning Productions, 1978; Dramatic Publishing, 1981) and The dollar woman (in New Canadian drama, v. 2, Borealis Press, 1981. Edited by Patrick B. O'Neill); and relating to various productions of stage plays, letters from Anglican clergy condemning The dollar woman, W. J. Learning's resignation from Canada Council, purchase of A. Nowlan's Papers by the University of Calgary and various other topics. Includes copy of poem Home from the wars, dedicated to W. J. Learning, Up at ours series treatment book prepared by Kevin O'Connell and Bill Gough and rough drafts of scripts for the series by Margaret Axanel(?). Manuscripts enclosed with correspondence were removed to Drama Series together with repository photocopies of covering letters. In many cases, however, manuscripts discussed in letters were not attached by A. Nowlan to the covering letters.
