Biographical history

Jack Farish, 1905-1984, was raised near Northwich, Cheshire, England. He came to Canada in 1927 and settled in Calgary. He worked for Oliver Hart-Parr for several years, then established Farish Insurance which he ran until his retirement in 1967. He married Ruth Blanche Ellison of Parkland, Alberta. He was a founding member of the Calgary Ski Club and Calgary Safety Council, and was very active in the Alpine Club, Calgary Light Horse Association and Calgary Hunt Club. He was also a member of the City of Calgary Equestrian Advisory Council.
