Name of creator
Robert Inglis, 1834-, was born near Elgin, Scotland and served in the British Army. He immigrated to Canada in 1869 where he married Mary Henderson. They had six children, Mary Jane, 1872-?, George, 1875, William 1876-?, Helen, Louise, John, and Isabella. The family moved to Anthracite, Alberta in 1886 and in 1889 to Regina, Saskatchewan where Robert was employed by the North-West Mounted Police. Moves followed to Montreal, Banff and Calgary. William Inglis worked for the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) throughout the Canadian west. He married a Miss Bainbridge.

The fonds consists of a manuscript, "Boxcar Bill, the Railway Telegrapher", written by William Inglis in 1946 and edited by his son John; and photographs of the Inglis and Bainbridge families (ca. 1880-1900).
