Working People of Calgary Oral History ProjectThe collection consists of a photocopy of the personal fonds of Elmer Wessell, 1864-ca. 1960, of Oneonta, New York, USA, one of the eight founders of the Brotherhood of Railroad Brakemen, later named the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen; and a series of correspondence concerning construction of a wing of the Banff Springs Hotel in 1902-1903 (correspondents include A. J. McLean, D. McNicoll, and J. W. Leonard). Includes Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) correspondence and drawings about spur lines at Frank and Bellevue, Alberta.

T. “Spud” Murphy and completed by Wayne Arnold, with short essays by Nora Arnold on the history of the Association of Retired Postal Employees and on her family’s involvement with Canada Post. It includes historic photographs, newsclippings, copies of early records of the Calgary Post Office Benevolent & Co-operative Association (1922-1923), pages from a 1931-1933 historic scrapbook, an historical essay, lists and biographical sketches of Calgary postal employees, and more recent photographs of postal employees’ sports teams and social activities.

Also includes labour union returns and questionnaires (1972-1975) and circulars (1961).
