Fonds consists of films created by members of the Calgary Movie Makers Club, formerly called Calgary Amateur Motion Picture Club (CAMPC). They include vaudeville style comedies and dramas, stop-motion animation shorts, films of club meetings, sightseeing films of Banff and the Calgary Stampede, camp picnics and other material. Personal films belonging to Roy William Furgeson Sr. and Roy William Furgeson Jr. are also included as these would have been created and shown at club meetings.

Fonds consists of research records accumulated by Smith for books he was writing, research materials on the history of the University of Calgary, and course outlines and exam questions for courses taught by Smith.
