Item consists of 123 black and white photographic prints collected in the personal album of an anonymous lady on one of the first trips by the "Trail Riders of the Canadian Rockies" to Mt. Assiniboine in 1927. Album also includes: 3 photo postcards and 6 ephemeral items removed from printed pamphlets. Prints have been pasted (at corners) onto the pages of a scrapbook titled "Mt. Assiniboine "Matterhorn" of the Canadian Rockies: objective of six day trail ride." A page of text describing the album is included. Photographic images include: mountain scenery, campsites, riders on horseback, trail riding, the guide Lt. Col. Philip Moore, a Pow Wow, the Hanging Lakes, Sunshine Camp, Emerald Lake, Burgess Pass, Twin Falls, Yoho Valley, Ottertail cabin, Lake O'Hara, Mystic Lake, Kananaskis Dude Ranch run by Mrs. Bill Brewster, Paradise Valley, Lake Louise, Banff Springs Hotel and terrace pools. Other images from later trips include a fishing trip to Nipigon Lake Fishing Camp and Ste. Ignace Island. A final group were taken in the hills of Kentucky and in the Smoky Mountains. A captioned photograph in the album shows a family group, Mr. & Mrs. Weldon Talley and their children and Mr. & Mrs. Eric Brown (curator of the National Museum in Ottawa and his wife, a lecturer on art).
