The William Ziegler Fonds consists predominantly of material gathered and used by Ziegler during his time as an officer in the Canadian Military during WWII. This includes detailed official battle histories written immediately post conflict by the commanding officer for operational purposes, a draft of Ziegler's unpublished autobiography, and notes taken by Ziegler in his capacity as Deputy Commander of the Hannover Region in Germany following WWII. Consists of one album of black and white photographs attesting to the Naval career of Leading Telegrapher John McFerran aboard HMCS Swansea during WWII. Also includes a digital version of McFerran's journal from 1944. Information includes details of U-Boat engagement and German prisoner's captured and details related to activities prior and during to D Day.

Fonds consists of two binders containing, predominantly, newspaper clippings collected by Hofmann that pertain to both the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC) and the Canadian military generally. In many cases Hofmann collected clippings and related ephemera in particular subsets, including: Lakeland College in Vermilion, Alberta; CWAC Lieutenant Mary Dover; CWAC reunions. Fonds also contains some published items collected by Hofmann ca. WWII including manuals, and CWAC newsletters.
