The records document his activities as a renowned Canadian architectural studies teacher, critic, and writer. The majority of the records are from 1950 to 2018, spanning his activities as a professor and dean at the University of Toronto (1967-1993, 2004-2009), professor at Harvard University (1993-2004), a visiting lecturer at schools and events around the world, and as an influential critic and writer on architectural theory. The fonds includes records relating to Baird’s many writings on architecture, his education at the University of Toronto (1957-1962), his service on associations, and his travels both personal and professional over the years. The records include journals of project hours, correspondence and submissions from draftsmen seeking employment, notes regarding design concepts for projects, and a project portfolio. Also included is a print copy of Mann’s professional website from circa 2015.
Sub-series contains various writings by Richard Hunter from 1963 to 2018. The records include Hieizan: A screenplay in one act by Richard Hunter, a copy of the book Apples Under the Bed: Recollections and Recipes from B.C. Writers and Artists, which contains a section by Richard Hunter, entitled “Three Houses for Daucus Carota”, a small number of letters to the editor by Richard Hunter published in the Times Colonist and the Globe and Mail, as well as Hunter's 'A Dialogue' written in Kyoto in 1963.

There are also records relating to his position at the University of British Columbia as a faculty member in architecture and his position on the communications committee of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. Most of the articles and publications about Mann’s architectural practice are included in the series, along with two copies of his own publication from 1996, A Time Bindment 1962-1969: Part of the God Dance: The Architecture of Henry Yorke Mann. Series primarily contains records relating to Hunter’s student career at the School of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma from 1955 to 1958. The series includes several of his architectural drawings from the period, along with photographs of his student work. The series notably includes 15 copies of drawings by Hunter’s professor, the renowned architect, Bruce Goff, as well as 10 copies of drawings by the major American architect and fellow University of Oklahoma graduate, Herb Greene. The drawings are largely presentation drawings in the organic style of American architecture which was a major influence upon Hunter’s own practice. The series includes a copy of Louise Mendelsohn’s biography, a portrait of her taken in circa 1925, a copy of Hunter’s memoir documenting his friendship with Eric and Louise Mendelsohn, and a copy of the 1955 Eric Mendolsohn portfolio, which Hunter designed.
