Consists of architectural drawings created by John Caulfield Smith in the design and construction of his family residence in Oakville, Ontario. There are 28 original drawings, including both architectural and detail drawings, along with reprographic copies of 18 of the drawings in the form of blueprints and diazotype prints. Also included are 5 pages of specifications for the project, and 14 magazines, likely maintained by J.C. Smith’s sister, Molly Smith, that include articles by J.C. Smith on architecture, particularly his four-part series on designing, financing, and constructing his family residence that appeared in Chatelaine between August and November 1947.
Sin títuloSeries contains photographs of architectural projects completed by J. Francis Brown, F. Bruce Brown, and subsequent firms between 1886 and 1972. The photographs feature churches, residences, Mount Allison, and the Owen’s Art Gallery in Sackville. The slides were created as copies in 1979 while on loan to the CAA from the originals maintained by F. Bruce Brown. Note that only a selection of Brown’s collection of slides were duplicated for CAA holdings.
