Fonds consists predominantly of letters that MacLellan wrote to his mother while serving in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Europe between 1915 and 1918 together along with a small number of postcards and telegrams. There is also a small pocket diary, a photocopy of his attestation papers, and biographical descriptive material provided by a friend of the donor at the time of donation.
