Fonds primarily consists of letters sent home by Ainsworth to his mother and father in Red Deer, Alberta. Fonds also includes a small amount of correspondence from other people as well as items of service for Ainsworth.

The scrapbook was kept by Sidney Kaye and includes mementos, sketches and remembrances of his time at the Marlag und Milag prisoner-of-war camp.
