The fonds consists of Art’s personal material from his hockey career, and military service in World War Two. This includes scrapbooks about his hockey and military careers, correspondence with his Father Cecil and other family members and friends during his various tours overseas and in Calgary, and photographs of various hockey teams including the Elmwood Millionaires, Winnipeg Monarchs, Calgary Stampeders, and Victoria Army hockey Team.
Rice-Jones, Arthur ErnestThe fonds consists of Arthur's notebooks and diaries (1900-1919), correspondence, war papers, memberships and memoirs of his homesteading and war experiences; Florence's certificates and papers re United church activities; newspaper clippings about the family; and photographs of homesteading, the Munson area, Calgary businesses, and the military. Includes photos of the Griffith Parry and Thomas Pierce families of Morrin, and the Henry Barrett family of Beddington. Also includes some documents related to their brother-in-law Walter Smith (who was born in England in 1856 and died in Calgary in 1944).
Turner familyThe collection consists predominantly of autographs of British military and naval leaders, statesmen, nobility, and other famous people. Many of the autographs are accompanied by portraits. It also includes a collection of British military documents from the Napoleonic Wars: recruiting instructions issued by the commanders of two regiments; an oath of allegiance; a notice of reward for apprehension of a deserter; proceedings of a court-martial; a circular letter from the War Office regarding payment of men; and a pay sheet for officers. Includes photographs of the South African War and the First World War, including some depicting Winston Churchill as a young officer. Includes British First World War propaganda posters, and a poster issued by the Allied occupation forces in Jerusalem.
