Surdin, including many used to accompany theatrical productions and as incidental music for various Canadian Broadcasting Corporation dramatic series; lyrics and scripts of radio, television and stage plays by numerous Canadian playwrights, such as W. O. Mitchell, Max Braithwaite and Len Peterson, for which M. Surdin composed the accompanying music; sound recordings of radio drama, motion picture themes, symphonic and other music composed by M. Doolittle on 18 compact disks; promotional and production material; concert and festival programs; workshop and concert series brochures; photographs; newsclippings; and correpondence, promotional and other material relating to various musical and educational organizations with which Q. Doolittle was affiliated. Fonds also includes one small appendix, MsC 281, consisting of scores for Four songs for soprano and viola including vocal score, viola score and transfigurations for viola and piano.

Also includes programs, brochures, pamphlets, posters, publicity, reviews, articles and other newsclippings relating to R.M. Schafer and/or his work and lectures, workshops and symposia in which he participated.

Fonds consists of correspondence; research material; manuscripts of books on North American folk music and radio scripts for CBC Wednesday Night for which R. Johnston selected, arranged and conducted the music; manuscript scores of orchestral, instrumental, choral, operatic and chamber works, as well as incidental music for the theatre and folk music arranged by R. Johnston; material relating to R. Johnston's research and collection of folklore and folk songs, including reports of his folk song collection in Saskatchewan and Mennonite Ontario, transcripts of oral history tapes and sound cassettes describing the folklore collection; biographical and other information on various musicians; photographs; and material relating to musical organizations, such as the Alberta Composers' Association and the International Society for Music Education, with which R. Johnston was affiliated. Accession 881/11.3 consists of material relating to the publications of R. Johnston's book Folk songs North America sings: a source book for all teachers (Toronto: E.C. Kerby, 1984).

Fonds consists of correspondence, chiefly with other musicians and composers; manuscript of Words on music; manuscript scores of compositions for viola, organ, chorus, and violin and organ, as well as an octet for woodwinds, strings and piano; and manuscript scores by other composers, including Phantasy for violin with piano accompaniment (Gestetner(?) reproduction of original manuscript) by Arnold Schoenberg and Sonata for solo violin (original manuscript) by Roger Sessions.
