Background research

Subseries consists of materials relating to Buckmaster's study of early mountaineering in the Western Rockies. Includes alpine club reports, regional histories, guidebooks, maps, essays, magazine and journal articles, handwritten notes, biographies of prominent individuals, book excerpts, correspondence, historic newsclippings and accounts, copies of photographs.

The Prince Consort research

The sub-series consists of transcriptions of letters and memoranda from the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle relating to domestic and international affairs between 1840-1861 used by Dr. Eyck for research for his book on the Prince Consort.

George Peabody Gooch biographical research

The sub-series consists of Gooch’s original incoming correspondence and copies of outgoing correspondence, personal and business correspondence with publishers, editors, educators, authors and others, manuscripts of the book The Second Empire, book reviews, book prefaces, essays, lectures, articles in British newspapers and academic journals and the Contemporary Review of which he was founder and editor, drafts of unpublished work, news clippings of articles by G.P. Gooch and reviews of his books, honours and awards, photographs, sound cassette, tape and discs of lectures and interviews with Gooch, some with transcripts, for radio broadcasts, as well as offprints of published work, and works about G.P.Gooch. Also includes correspondence and research material from Frank Eyck relating to his book on Gooch. The material was selected by Eyck from the Gooch estate which donated it to him and subsequently gave copyright to the University of Calgary.

Index cards

Sub-series consists of index cards, some of which were catalogued by Forbis, containing research notes.


Sub-series consists of colour and black and white photographs. Identifiable subjects include: Majorville Cairn, the University of Calgary Department of Archaeology museum, Wahkpa Chugan Bison Kill, Montana, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Peru and the MacHaffie site, as well as various family members.

Art Project Files

Sub-series contains alphabetically arranged subject files for art projects taught in Stadelbauer's classes. Files contain descriptions and drawings of how to create the desired item, the history of the craft, materials lists, bibliographies, etc. Not all files contain all types of record.
