Beechey drawings

Series consists of the drawings and sketches of Frederick William Beechey (1796-1856), an English naval officer, artist, explorer, hydrographer and writer. In 1819-20 he served under W.E. Parry in the Hecla on a voyage of discovery to the eastern Arctic, spending the winter in Winter Harbour, Melville Island, where he made scientific observations and sketches of the terrain.

Series consists of reports on polar expeditions (Jeanette Expedition, Markham's navigation of the Hudson Strait, MacAlpine Northern Prospecting Expedition), a scrapbook of Dr. J.
