Svendsen enclose manuscripts of short stories Origami and Heartbeat (variant title Aloe) and announcement that L. Svendsen has won the American Short Story Contest. J. Metcalf's holograph annotation "rewritten versions of stories for Second Impressions (too late for the book as being set when these arrived)" accompany L. Svendsen's manuscripts.
