Series consists of records relating to the sale of Party memberships, the donation of money to the Party, and general fundraising activities undertaken by the Party through the Reform Fund Canada. Records have been arranged into four sub-series including (1) Fundraising subject files, (2) Donor records, (3) Membership rebates and (4) Committed distribution reports.
Series consists of ephemeral items, mainly used in publicizing the Party and its activities. Includes Assembly ’89 briefcases and tote bag, sweatshirts and T shirts, SWAT team baseball caps, letterhead, flags, coffee mug, spoons, buttons, pins, cowboy hat with Reform ribbon, boxing gloves, car licence plate, bumper stickers, cards and unused postcards.
Series consists of records created and accumulated by members of the Executive Council, the Executive Secretary who supported the Council and the Chair, and the Party’s standing and ad hoc committees. The series is arranged into three sub-series, including: (1) Executive Council minutes and associated records, (2) Executive secretary’s records, and (3) Committee records.
Series consists of records relating to the process of developing Party policy through investigation of a variety of issues and the establishment of “task forces”, communicating policy resolutions to the Party membership for consideration at Assemblies, and publicizing policy positions to a wider audience via a variety of media. Series is arranged into two sub-series including: (1) Policy subject files, and (2) Task forces.
Series consists of records relating to the communications function required by the Party to inform its officers, staff, members, candidates, Members of Parliament and the general public about the Party’s activities. Series is arranged into six sub-series including, (1) Subject files, (2) Production coordinator’s records, (3) Coordinator of creative services’ records, (4) Correspondence, (5) Clippings, and (6) Published materials.
Records have been arranged into two sub-series, including: (1) Early administrative records, and (2) Executive director’s records.
Series consists of records pertaining to legal advice sought by the Party on a variety of issues and to the legal disputes and arbitration hearings the Party was involved in. Includes memos, correspondence, legal documents, notes and other material relating to the development of the Party’s constitution and of constituency constitutions, registration of the Party with Elections Canada as an official federal political party, by laws of the Reform Party of Canada, a Party code of conduct, trademark registration for the Reform name and logo, provincial party registration, legal disputes and broadcast arbitration. Also includes membership lists for Executive Council, Party organisational charts (1994), a fundraising corporate prospect list, financial statements, and a caucus membership list (1993). Records are arranged in alphabetical order by file title and chronologically within the alphabetical framework. Many of these records were created and retained by Robert (Bob) Muir, General Counsel for Reform from 1987-1996. Muir was one of the individuals instrumental in the formation of the Reform Association and the Reform Party in 1987-1988. He also acted as Secretary of the Party, and Chair of the Legal and Constitution Committee during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Following the federal election in 1993, Muir cut back on his activities within the Reform Party as other members of the Party with legal training shared the workload. Muir died in January 1996.
Series consists of speeches given by Preston Manning, Tom Flanagan, Deborah Grey, and Stephen Harper at various events, and by other Members of Parliament in the House of Commons. Also included are “backgrounders” that list basic questions and answers on the Party’s position: each backgrounder pertains to one specific subject. The majority of the speeches included in the series were given by Manning: several versions of the same speech that was given at different locations exist in some instances. The files are arranged by speaker, with Manning’s speeches coming first, followed by Flanagan, Grey and Harper, and the MPs speeches in several files at the end of the series. Manning’s speeches are arranged in chronological order by year.
Series consists of audio recordings of Reform Party events, speeches, interviews, training presentations and music, as well as recordings of interest to the Party because of the subject or speaker. The series has been arranged into four sub-series including: (1) “Fireside chats” (2) Radio advertisements and music, (3) Speeches and media interviews, and (4) Assemblies.
Series consists of the records created and received by Bob van Wegen during his work on the party executive of the Reform Party in his role as leader of the Youth wing form 1993-1994, and correspondence coordinator in 1992. He also worked in the area of constituency development and election campaign readiness. Included are copies of member newsletter, blue books, correspondence, conference proceedings, They include constituency newsletters, campaign brochures, promotional items, announcements, notes from party council meetings, council contact lists (restricted), assembly packages, copies of speeches from party members and a box of news clippings on various aspects of the Reform Party. There are audio and video recordings (2 cassette tapes and 2 VHS) of speeches and fireside chats. Some of the published/printed material may be duplicates of Reform Party records in other series.
