Certificates and Commendations

Series consists of certificates of service, commission, discharge, and military qualification. Also includes one mentioned in despatch notice and Cummer's 1946 registration certificate for a Webley 45 revolver.


Series consists of one cavalry ledger titled "Descriptive Roll: Horses" that has been modified for use as a scrapbook for clippings related to the progress of WWI. Scrapbook has some annotation and the first page has concealed written text related to the description of regimental horses. Also includes several items of loose clippings from both The Daily Graphic, and The Daily Mail for November 10, 1914.

England and Canada

Consists predominantly of photographs taken ca. WWI. Most photos have original identity captioning on verso. Includes two formal portraits of J.W. Cummer; group photo of B. Squadron (L.S.H.-R.C.) taken at Pond Farm, Salisbury Plains; several photos of Cummer and friends. Also includes on rolled photo of an unidentified unit and its original wrapping which potentially identifies it as "officer school".
