Fonds consists of diaries kept by Watson during his time as a commanding officer during WWI. Also includes related WWI photographs and ephemera collected and arranged by Watson in scrapbook.
Watson, DavidSeries consists of six "Orderly Sergeant's Daily Memo Book" notebooks used by Watson for recording his daily observations during his time of service WWI. Diaries are all handwritten and each contains an "Incidents" section at the rear in which Watson recorded items of a more personal nature.

- French certificate awarding Watson: Commandeur de L'Ordre National de la Legion d'Honneur. August 4, 1917. Signed by Auguste Florentin.
- French certificate awarding Watson the Citation a L'Ordre de L'Armée for his participation in the Allied Hundred Days Offensive, August-November, 1918. April 10 1919.
- Certificate of appreciation from the City of Quebec for wartime service, signed by Mayor Henri-Edgar Lavigueur.
- Honourary Doctorate certificate from Bishop's University, June 1920.
- Certificate of Montenegro, Order of Danelo 3rd Class. July 1921.
Also includes two items of correspondence pertaining to Watson's being granted Companion of the Order of Bath (1917), and later Knight Commander of the Order of Bath (1918).
Series includes obituary notices and the gift tag that records the transfer of the field bible from "Bea" to Colin Grant. Also includes photocopies of the material at larger scale for easier reading.
