Biographical history

English actor, theatrical historian, director and designer William Bridges-Adams was born in Harrow, England, on March 1, 1889. Died on August 17, 1965. Biographical information available in Who was who in the theatre : 1912-1976, v. 1, p. 281-282.

Fonds consists of personal and business correspondence, pamphlets and newsclippings relating to Stratford (England) productions and the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre, photographs, sketches, set designs, scene plots, working and lighting plots, scripts, programs, manuscripts, notes and proofs of published work. Accession 235/80.13 is letter, 1964 October 18, to I. K. Fletcher declining to review unidentified book by "Gielgud".
