Biographical history
Canadian music educator and performer Jean Marie Scott was born in Youngstown, Alberta. Early music education in Winnipeg and Ottawa. Studied at Royal Conservatory of Music under Ernesto Vinci, Greta Kraus, Dorothy Hill and Frances Marr and performed on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and at Canadian Opera School. Graduated in 1949 and joined teaching staff of Royal Conservatory of Music. Retired from teaching in 1993. Also maintained concert career, taught master classes, examined singing candidates for the Conservatory and adjudicated at music festivals across Canada. Died August 31, 1995.
