Biographical history

The International Marketing and Recuitment Office was established at the University of Calgary in February of 1997. Since then they have produced marketing materials for prospective international students, prepared recruitment kits to be used by faculty members and international recruiters, participated in recruitment fairs, instituted a 1-800 number available in some countries for international student registration, made application material available on the U of C web site, and advertised in international journals. The office produces a quarterly newsletter "the Globe" which includes perspectives and international stories and updates from all university faculties and departments.

The activities and staff of the Office of International Marketing and Recruitment were moved from Student and Academic Services to be integrated with the International Centre in July of 1999. The office would continue its strong liaison with Student and Academic Services, in particularly with the International Student Centre and the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
