Name of creator
George C. Gahan was born in Montreal, Quebec, April 19, 1931. First met Robert Kroetsch in 1950 when they were roommates as employees of the catering contractors Crawley and McCracken on a construction site in Churchill, Manitoba. Friendship further cemented when G.C. Gahan returned to Montreal a year or two later and Kroetsch was studying at McGill under Hugh MacLennan. In 1958 Gahan moved to New Zealand where he owns a bookstore. He visited Kroetsch in Calgary on his first return visit to Canada in 1979; Kroetsch has since visited Gahan in New Zealand several times.

Kroetsch's social life, work, writing and plans for his trips to New Zealand as well as critiquing G.C. Gahan's writing.
