        History

Hunter Valley Oil Company Ltd. was incorporated under the federal Companies Act on March 22, 1930. The president was Campbell Murray Hunter of London, England, who was involved in geological work in Alberta, and the head office was in Calgary. Robert James MacLaren and Austin de B. Winter were the Calgary directors. The company's objectives were to acquire petroleum and natural gas leases in Alberta, to prospect and develop these, to construct and operate pipelines, and to market crude oil and oil products. The company secured leases in the Red Deer River Valley but only drilled one well. It ceased operations in 1938.
